Anyone looking for a reasonably quick track biased car?
Jon Ison - 19/11/14 at 07:03 PM

Seriously thinking of selling my car or maybe breaking for parts.

For example daytuner built 1441 busa with all bits to run......fully mapped by Darren.

Atlas axle disc braked with slippy diff......

Digi dash......

Wildwood front brake set up......

Various 13" wheels n tyres......

Flat shifter...........

Alloy tank with built in pump.....

Ally fab rad with oil cooler mounted in front....

Prob raise more broken than complete any interest in car or bits?

19sac65 - 19/11/14 at 07:06 PM

Wheels and tyres
Tell me more

Jon Ison - 19/11/14 at 07:19 PM

They will be the last to go I'm afraid, prefer them to stay with car until sold or broken.

Nickp - 19/11/14 at 07:29 PM

WOT?? NO!! YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS JON!!
BTW It's more than reasonably quick, it's obscenely QUICK!!

TimC - 19/11/14 at 07:31 PM

Does this signal that the racing-return is on?

Or speed events Jon? Come join the fun mate! I'm sure we can squeeze you into a jedi or similar!

lsdweb - 19/11/14 at 09:04 PM

Hi Jon

I'm not encouraging you to sell or break but if you do decide to break, I'm looking for a digidash dependent on make etc..

Ta

Wyn

nick205 - 19/11/14 at 09:12 PM

Hi Jon

Do you have a price in mind for the complete car?

Jon Ison - 19/11/14 at 09:14 PM

youtube clip

It's had a new bonnet since this clip, the bulge as gone.

The Knobs - 19/11/14 at 09:41 PM

what diff ratio are you using in the Atlas?

jossey - 19/11/14 at 09:41 PM

I would be interested in the digi dash.

What cost you think for the engine, manifold and all bits to make it run...

AvonJas - 19/11/14 at 09:45 PM

Hi Jon

Would also be interested in a set of wheels/tyres if there's any left , maybe the wilwood brakes too

Cheers Jason

joni - 19/11/14 at 11:52 PM

Interested in flat shifter
Alloy rad oil cooler
Have you any pics buddy

PAUL FISHER - 20/11/14 at 12:19 AM

No Jon don't break it, its Legendary is the "Isonblade" now the "Isonbusa". And how are you going to buy it back in a few years time for the second time if it gets broken up

samjc - 20/11/14 at 01:58 AM

Any other bits up for grabs like steering wheel ect ?

cb500t - 20/11/14 at 09:30 AM

Interested in tank if the car gets parted out.

Jon Ison - 21/11/14 at 01:30 PM

Ok, for starters then the engine, if this goes then obviously the rest will break....

2001 Gen 1 engine, went into Daytuner for a refresh last year and came back slightly bloated..........

84 mm JE pistons, over bored and re coated block, brand spanking new gen 2 crank from powetech, spacer under barrels giving 1441cc, pair kent cams, new cam chain, venires and tensioner, valves re seated but no actual head work other than shimming cams, uprated oil pump gear, gearbox inspected and refreshed as required, new clutch & springs. In other words a puka professional engine build not just thrown together, built for plenty of grunt and reliability, its seems to have plenty of both.

Will come with ecu, engine loom, piggy back Dynojet mapped on rollers by Darren at Daytuner, accusump system, allyfab custom air box, custom stainless 4-1 manifold and silencer (102 static @ 7k revs) cable operated clutch mechanism, prop adaptor......and anything I've overlooked.

Engine is in car so can currently be driven seen/heard running, plenty on here know the car I'm sure they will testify its got grunt and runs very well and is uber reliable.

If your looking for a full package, ie prop & back axle then Im sure we can deal, axle will not be sold alone prior to engine going.

Dunno, what's the above worth ? £4.5k ? Go out and by a £2k standard busa lump its going to cost at least 1/2 that again to install and get running ?

Want the complete car ? Make me an offer but its 13 years old and getting tired in places, my winter plans would (maybe still are) to totally rewire the car, 13 years of add on's engine changes etc... mean the wiring in places doesn't look good, all works but I'm not too proud of how it looks right now and have a fear one day it will let me down, it never as but I know about it and how it looks.
The other area of concern (upgrade) would be rear trailing arm pick up points on the chassis, repaired (temporally as you do) when this engine first went in as it ripped the back axle out, the temporary repair is still there, its not moved it wont move but is not great on the eye, side panels need to come off to effect a nice looking repair, the car drives and handles well as is but don't want anyone thinking everything is ticketey boo rather tell it as it is.

200mph - 21/11/14 at 01:35 PM

Was a price mentioned for the whole car?

Cheers

Mark

Jon Ison - 23/11/14 at 08:53 PM

£7k?

take it on a track day and you won't be waving anyone by too often.

daniel mason - 23/11/14 at 09:38 PM

You seriously gonna part with that car for £7k?
I was thinking it would be closer to £10k!

Jon Ison - 23/11/14 at 09:58 PM

I'm been realistic, it would go on track tomorrow and not dissapoint but it does have the two issues I mentioned, it could do with re wiring and whilst not a necessity over winter if kept I would re do the rear trailing arm pick ups to the chassis.

Those that have seen it know what it goes and handles like, I'm not going to bull it up it is what it is, broken it would clear the asking price with ease.

daniel mason - 23/11/14 at 10:17 PM

I understand why your not bulling it up but you could spend £7k for the engine quick shifter and digi dash quite easily!
Which means the rest of the car is free!

unijacko67 - 23/11/14 at 10:58 PM

Seriously quick car, or your superman. imho that is.

Jon Ison - 23/11/14 at 11:02 PM

The bottom line is I seriously doubt you could find a car to stay remotely near it for the price.

Soaked Cadwell park last week, its stays planted come rain or shine, max speed recorded 127 not bad going for a reasonably powerful lightweight rwd car in such conditions.

JonnyS - 24/11/14 at 02:01 PM

Clearly the driver/car combo works very well and the wet weather setup is impressive.

I wasn't going to buy another kit car until next winter but to be honest I'm very interested in this. I value a well-sorted proven car that's been used over something all-show and (potentially) no go. I planned a season off from track days next year, but could get the work done at my leisure and then start using it.

Clearly it's a well known car, but could you just give me a few bits of info:-

Are there any more pictures?
What would need doing to the pick-up points and rough cost?
Estimated BHP
Weight
Top speed
Given the pictures, I presume it's MOT'd and fully road legal?

Thanks

Jonathan

Agreed!!

adithorp - 24/11/14 at 04:09 PM

Just another endorsement... It might not be the prettiest thing but it's seriously quick. There's not many cars that I see in the paddock at the start of a trackday, that I'll know never catch all day... and I've tried.

How you going to get your fix next year, Jon?

Steve Hignett - 4/12/14 at 12:23 AM

That would be £7k well spent of anyone's money...
GLWTS Jon.

owelly - 4/12/14 at 12:07 PM

Just to concur......
I can't comment on the value of the car as often the sum of all the parts....etc...
But. It's a blummin quick car. If any prospective buyer fails to make it fly, the finger will be pointed at what's in the car, not the car......

daniel mason - 4/12/14 at 01:07 PM

Not a patch on the turd though welly!
Why not see if he fancies a part ex plus cash your way?

Jon Ison - 4/12/14 at 07:07 PM

Nothing wrong with the turd, awesome soundtrack and now with power steering and updated bonnet stays..............
