Is the v6 first motion shaft really 30mm longer ?

CRAIGR - 16/5/21 at 07:16 PM

This box already has a 30mm spacer and has had shaft cut to length of standard box . The trouble with that is shaft now only sits 5mm into spigot bearing . I could get the 30mm spacer milled down to 15mm but thought I’d ask first .

It might be a silly question Craig but if the shaft has been cut down to the length of a standard type 9, why does it need a spacer at all?

At a guess ,using a 4 cylinder bell housing on a v6 box?

32mm actually

Correct Rusty
With a 15mm spacer and the input shaft having been cut down it would be the same as a 4cyl type 9 . With the 30mm spacer the end of the input shaft will only sit in spigot about 4-5 mm including chamfer on shaft .
