I have a laptop that isnt used that often but I will need it for setting up a megajolt etc, the problem I have is that the battery is very low ( 6% ) and the charger won't charge it, when I take the battery out the laptop wont work at all. The charger has a little led that comes on for a few seconds then goes out when connected.

Any ideas?

I would try and find a friend with a similar charger to see if it this laptop or the charger at fault. If it ends up being the charger you may be able to get one from fleabay.......

If the laptop runs on the charger but doesn't charge battery. it's the battery.
If the laptop doesn't charge battery and won't run on the charger (battery draining) it's the charger.

Some laptops won't run if battery is removed.

or the connection from the charger within the laptop, - I have seen many loose connections that required re soldering to the board.

A big thanks to all that have answered, I've done as above and discovered that it's the charger itself that is nfg, a new one is ordered.
