spaxs adjustments

hi can any tell me the basics of adjusting my spax ?
shorting the springs (winding them up)
harder ride/better handling??

small screw at bottom of shock ?rebound/soft/hard??clockwise or anti clockwise?
or is it all trial and error/

Dave Ashurst posted a good method of setting up your shocks a while back. Have a search and see what you can find. Or maybe he can remember where it is....
