FS: LPG Kit for sale, ECU, all hardware, spare wheel tank, download cable and adaptors!

Hi All,

Anyone for cheap motoring?!

I had this on my 528i BMW for about 3 years and it was excellent, toured europe and ran on LPG everywhere - much cheaper overall and got to cruise about in a car I liked whilst paying much less for fuel and its pretty straightforward to fit.

STAG300 6 System - 6 cyl sequential LPG injection - no noticeable difference from petrol when driving
VSGi vapouriser - good for around 200bhp
Donut tank means it sits in the spare wheel well
Auto switchover from petrol to LPG and back - one little switch and gauge on dash
Full instructions with the kit
New injector block and filters in the last couple of months
Auto tune facility with the software means you can auto calibrate and drive off straight away - you can further tune with a laptop and the download cable (included) if you want to

Ready to fit - you'll need some new hoses but everything else is there ready to go.

£250 for everything - can deliver anywhere along the A1 between Newcastle and Bedford on Monday next week

what sort of cost per mile was you getting.

would it be better than a 525d version of the bimmer? that gets about 40mpg average.

Thanks

Yep it would better than a 525d.

I think the general concensus is, you lose about 10% of your petrol efficiency but with LPG being 50% the cost of petrol and diesel it works out pretty favourably.

I thought it was a useful saving when I used to drive the BMW.

Stag is a good system.

Savings on LPG depend very much on local forecourt price and how far you live from the pump.

K & KV6 engines work well on LPG no long term problems.

Strongly considering LPG as an addition to my Triumph 2.5PI. This is already running Megasquirt management, so adding LPG injection is not as daft as it first sounds. In theory it's even possible to do without the second ECU.

Pity we are in opposite corners of the country (I'm in Somerset) - don't imagine the carriers will be all that keen of transporting the tank?

Ah Cooz!

Well some of the kit will - i.e tank, sender, vapouriser, solenoids etc but you'll need to swap the ecu over for a motogas 8 and sell this motogas 6 to someone with a 6cyl motor.

If you fancy a look-see, U2U - its in the garage

Always wondered about this, interested, but how do the gas injectors mount into the inlet manifold? Is it a tough job to do?

Cheers

The gas goes manifold through simple screw in spud connectors ---- on must kits it is simple M6 hole that is drilled and tapped for the connector close to the petrol injector. Injectors themselves (usually a block or 3 or 4 depending on number of cylinders) are connected by flexible tubing to the manifold "spuds". If you google for "Tinley Tech" you will find good info. My conversion took me about 20 working hours and a lot more thinking doing the same type of car again would take me about 10 hours. I used a a cylindrical tank but a using a doughnut shaped tank is a lot quicker and easier.

There are pictures of my DIY LPG conversion on the Rover in my photo archive but they don't show thr injector valve block or manifold spuds because they are not visible below the manifold.

This is an LPG Injector for a 4 cylinder
