What Tax to pay on applicaiton to DVLA

Crikey only just starting to fill my V55/5 form and am falling at the first hurdle of trying to work out the right tax amount to send. I think its now £126.50 as private light goods. Can anyone confirm???

Thanks

now im thinking its £123.75

the problem seems to be due to me having an engine from before 1994!!!

Maybe i just go for it and see what they say

If your engine is pre March 2001 then the rates are based on engine size. For engines less than 1549cc its £145 for 12 months and £79.75 for 6 months. For engines over 1549cc its £230 for 12 months and £126.50 for 6 months

Correct, except the age of your engine has no bearing on it for a kit. Those rates apply to all kit cars regardless of engine or car age.

^^ what he said

your kit doesn't have EU type approval (if it did you wouldn't need and IVA)
that means there are no official CO² figures for your model available so you have to be taxed on the old system regardless of the age of the car or the number plate on it

the pre-95 engine thing is only for the VOSA tests (IVA & MOT) its got nothing to do with the DVLA (TAX)
