Sierra diff seized

Hi,
The diff has seized on my Tiger Avon hillclimber. The Casing is completely dry with no sign of leaking. Was working fine (or seemed to be) up to the last run on my last hill a couple of weeks ago.Whilst freewheeling down to the start line there was a whining sound that I thought was coming from the front which I checked and everything seemed to be OK - but thinking now must have been coming from the diff. After the run the I stalled the car a couple of times as it did not seem to want to go forward which I again thought was brakes. But no,it's the diff and now it's completely seized .I Has anyone came across this before and is it fixable? Thanks.

Hmm, front bearing overheat and welded itself up maybe?

Or the planet gears have dropped off the pins and jammed it up?

Take the cover off and have a look inside...

What size / configuration is the diff?

I have a spare 7.5inch 3.9 Bolton shafts waiting for a new home.

I've just taken a 3.62 out of mine to put a 3.14 in. So the majority of the 3.62 will be available.
I'm about to strip the LSD out of it to put into the 3.14 along with the lobro joints.
Depending what's wrong with yours I could probably make you up a direct replacement, whereabouts are you?

I've got a sierra diff & drive shafts, can't remember what spec, it was out of a shopping trolley version, so I doubt anything special, but you can have it for free if you come and collect it from near Swansea.

Thanks Guys for the replys. The car was stripped this morning and discovered that it was the rear brake master cylinder that was seized solid and not the diff after all ! which makes me feel a bit silly and premature - bur will be easier to fix!
