Today is a good day and I'm properly chuffed!!
After many long days installing the Puma 1.7 engine into my Sylva Mojo, today it was time for the first start. Although there were a few initial
issues with the immobiliser as I have grafted part of the Puma ECU and wiring loom into the rest of the electrics which all came from a P reg Fiesta.
However, eventually it started...

Think I'll have a bit of a day off tomorrow and watch the BTCC, but if the weather is good then a quick test drive will be in order

Nice one. Does it use the eec-iv or eec-v ?
It's the standard EEC-V for these. I did buy a MS1 but never installed it as the EEC-V was essentially free, runs the variable cam timing
correctly and does not need a rolling road to set it up
which saves me a few quid and gets me on the road faster.
Can't stop smiling...

awesome stuff, but where is your fuel tank hidden?
Just in front of the passenger footwell.
There's not much room in the back...
well done. where did the cool gauges come from?
I got the gauges from www.digital-speedos.co.uk
They're pretty flashy, but a bit difficult to read in direct sunlight. I'm planning to fit some cowls to them to give a bit of shade...

Very nice but please do something with the exhaust manifold
it lets the engine down

Thanks for the link for the gauges, Just had a look at the website I feel a dash upgrade coming on

Yeah, I've got some heatshields to cover the nasty looking manifold and catalytic converter so they'll be nicely hidden away soon. I did
look into getting a nice tubular manifold but then I'd have to find somewhere else to fit a cat (the car is age related so needs a cat for mot)
and if it's good enough for Ford, it'll be good enough for me!
This is how much exhaust is visible when the bodywork is fitted...

Brilliant gauges, whole car looks great, it will be nice to see the finished product. Well done, Barry
