My car has been off the road since I decided, foolishly perhaps, to revamp the Dashboard and re-organise the under-dash wiring.
I registered and began using my car in 2006 and I took it off-road in 2016 and it's now 2025
Initially I missed driving but I enjoyed working on the car again.
The final joblist looks like this...
1) I re-made my throttle pedal to make the car easier to drive - switched from a 'hanging-pedal' to an 'organ-pedal' design
2) I fixed the broken engine mounts and raised the enigine by 25mm to give a bit more road clearance
3) Re-made the dashboard and centre console to make it look nicer, fitted new Racetech instruments and made it easier to get to the wiring etc...
4) Re-wired everything under the Dashboard
5) Moved some controls to the Steering Wheel to make the car easier to drive
6) I put a bulge in the bonnet to clear the raised engine
7) I'm about to replace the fuel tank and fit a new fuel pump and filter
About halfway through that list I lost motivation - I forgot how much fun the car was to drive AND I got fed up with working on it in the garage!
I think that's why it's taken so long to get back to this point. Anyway I'm just waiting on a new fuel tank and then it should be
running and working again.
This site has helped remind me of the good times, when the car was on the road, and to keep me motivated and interested.
I'm going to add a few pictures of what I've done simply to help others facing similar struggles

I know the feeling. Mine broke a trailing arm, and despite fixing it promptly, it ended up dead in the garage for 7 years! Now I try to religiously start it at least monthly. Mot ran out a few months ago and there's a minor list of things I'm working through to get it passed again. Booked in in ten days time woohoo!
Keep at it, it will get done and be driven again.
BTW I need a new petrol tank where are you getting your's made?
Thanks both
Fuel tank is coming from Alloy Racing Fabrications Ltd: sales@alloyracingfabrications.com
Did you trace around your own foot?
erm... maybe

I particularly like how you did the tunnel, looks great. Amazed you hammered out that bonnet bulge! that was so much work but you did it well. Make sure you use it and take it to some car shows too as their fun.
Thanks mate, my neighbour wasn’t as impressed with the work on the bonnet! It’s quite a noisy process

The new fuel tank has arrived and I've added pictures in my Photo Archive.
