Bought a few bits from my local exhaust shop... Locost style..
Decided to try my hand at a repackable exhaust - first attempt 
!!
Description
Started with an end cap..
Description
End cap to be welded on and polished..
Description
Mig welded two end plates on perf tube to make a bobbin .. Horrible welding 
Description
In it goes.. Removable..
Description
Left a snug gap for tail plate..
Description
Drilled & welded screws tail plate..
Description
One screw in to help align holes..
Description
Allen bolts - plate to be linished polished..
Description
Swaged pipe for align & fitting to manifold ..
Description
Tail pipe exit - to be linished polished & tail end pipe welded on..
Description
Current exhaust ..
Description
Seems like a good idea for £50 in bits..
Wadding is looking expensive though ..

Do they have an online presence? Does anyone know of good online sources of exhaust parts? I'm looking at a couple of options for my car and want
to plan parts- haven't scanned the airwaves for sources in a few years.

I collected cash - 5" x 24" cylinder - 4 end plates - 1 perf tube - 1 long swaged tube
eBay for my M3 Dome heads and nuts..
Probably ask them to weld and polish it as they are local to me..

Great info, had not considered making my own exhaust. I will still need to buy & insert a cat into it though but could save some cash building the
exhaust myself.

My original was an old robin hood...
Side Exhaust
Which blew all the stuffing out and was very loud..
Next was a 5"x24" .. which has started to sound loud..
Next is a work in progress ..
however .. i fancied filling with this stuff..

But.. at £78.96 for 2.35meters x 600mm in that size can... Maybe overkill ...

Don't bother with wadding - but do move house so you live somewhere with lots of tunnels

I have my rev limiter set to a hard 5800 rpm ..
I get a nice bang bang bang and flames when bouncing off it ..
That answers where my filler has gone

I used their parts, in my case a ready made 22" x 6" universal stainless polished silencer, excellent quality and 94db at IVA, mine was
about £50 delivered

Yes.. that's what I have at the moment..
You can get end plates off them and mod yours to a repackable..
I was going that route but decided for £50 to start from fresh

I went to a few places to try and get a new silencer to replace mine but struggled to get one longer than 20", Mine is 29" and didn't
really want to reduce in size for noise reasons.
Have had a change of heart and decided to get some custom high temp carbon fiber made and going to give mine a new lease of life... will update my
thread when I've completed it...
