What a day - engine first start vid...
Today is a good day and I'm properly chuffed!!
After many long days installing the Puma 1.7 engine into my Sylva Mojo, today it was time for the first start. Although there were a few initial
issues with the immobiliser as I have grafted part of the Puma ECU and wiring loom into the rest of the electrics which all came from a P reg Fiesta.
However, eventually it started...

Think I'll have a bit of a day off tomorrow and watch the BTCC, but if the weather is good then a quick test drive will be in order

It's the standard EEC-V for these. I did buy a MS1 but never installed it as the EEC-V was essentially free, runs the variable cam timing
correctly and does not need a rolling road to set it up which saves me a few quid and gets me on the road faster.
Can't stop smiling...

Just in front of the passenger footwell.
There's not much room in the back...

I got the gauges from www.digital-speedos.co.uk
They're pretty flashy, but a bit difficult to read in direct sunlight. I'm planning to fit some cowls to them to give a bit of
shade...

You won't see it when the bodywork is on and it's good enough for Ford so no problem I think. Tube manifolds look cool but don't
always work better. Nice job and clean looking install there.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Yeah, I've got some heatshields to cover the nasty looking manifold and catalytic converter so they'll be nicely hidden away soon. I did
look into getting a nice tubular manifold but then I'd have to find somewhere else to fit a cat (the car is age related so needs a cat for mot)
and if it's good enough for Ford, it'll be good enough for me!
This is how much exhaust is visible when the bodywork is fitted...
