i'd be up for it. Live near newark so A1 is close by. Get something organised and keep us all informed

Theres quite a few of us in Leicester and as the weather improves an evening meet may take place at a pub near Earl Shilton! Keep eye on events section. It was discussed last year about changing the venue for each meet to different parts of the county. It might be an idea for someone to collate details of local folk and send out U2U`s, e-mails, pigeons to announce meet ups at weekends etc? Others not on this forum attend these meets too.

I'm in the local area too.
Seems to be quite a few of us round here - perhaps it would be a good idea to set something up?
I'm still hoping I'll be on the road by the summer too - perhaps - maybe?
Lukefab is also in Bingham. I believe there's a guy in Grantham as well - Miks15

Me too, happy for a meet up

bilbo - 12/3/09 at 09:24 AM

It looks like there is a good case here for some sort of club. An East Midlands Car Builders Club or the like?
Does anyone have any issues with me looking into this a bit further with a view to setting something up? Unless Vindi_andy has already started anything?
Nothing too formal, just a way of getting together from time to time.

Edited to say, I missed snippy's post, so I guess there is already something set up here.
The offer still stands, though, if anyone want's me to help set anything up, collate contact details etc.

earl shilton isn't too far from me so im up for a meet there when there is one

kelloggs - 12/3/09 at 02:15 PM

sounds a good idea I live rutland/leics border at stockerston and would like to meet up evenings or weekends now the summer is fast approaching, think it would be better if we choose day each month eg. last wed of the month at 7pm then just decide on the venue. also could have sunday jaunts with different people planning one in there area, finishing with a bbq and beer!!!!

Anyone been to the ashby folville car meet before? Local to the area, nice roads to get there, £1 (iirc) to get in, loads of nice cars. Every month of the year, 2nd tuesday of every month. Pretty much in between melton, loughbourough and leicester

ReMan - 13/3/09 at 07:23 AM

Yes a few of us go there it's a good night but you have to get there in good time else it's rammed when it's dry and sunny

I'm all for continuing our (earl shilton) meets this year but as said we need to move and vary the venue and get a better turn out. See last years posts on it

kelloggs - 13/3/09 at 08:37 AM

I would like to see a meet organised east of leicester on the borders of leics, lincs, notts & rutland as I think there are a lot of kit car owners in this area. If Bilbo/andi would like to pick a venue in this area I'm sure it would be supported. Do think picking a set night each month would be best, as it would stop any confusion. Also pub needs to have decent size car park & food. Go to Ashby Folville regular it's a good night, first meet is in April

Damn didnt realise there were that many of us out this way.

Couple of suggestions for a pub right on the border.

There the pud on the main grantham road in harlaxton cant remember the name of it but has a big carpark.

Then theres the Mucky Duck out in the vale near Woolsthorpe nice country pub and I believe there are bike meets there so they should be used to large gatherings of petrol heads.

Yeah the Gregory in Harlaxton (or gregory arms, one or the other) Largish carpark but not the nicest location. Muddy duck however, big carpark in a really nice area by the canal ^__^

Vindi_andy - 16/3/09 at 11:19 AM

Thats the one i was thinking of the "Muddy Duck"

Id had some "herbal" cigarettes when I went there so was slightly fuzzy

Benzine - 16/3/09 at 06:16 PM

or is it the dirty duck? Just googled it and some say muddy, some say dirty. Really confused now
