Exeter Show

I was really impressed with the turnout of kit cars in the car park particularly at this time of the year. Fortunately, the Show was blessed with good weather which gave a really good opportunity to spend time outside. Indeed on Saturday when I was there, there were it seemed more people outside than inside. It was good to see such a wide range of kitcars from 7s to vintage Bentley lookalikes. Each to his own which is as it should be.

Inside there were some very professionally finished cars as well as (in my opinion) some very rough ones. I was asked what for me, was the car of the show, to which i answered that there were two. One was the reproduction of the David Ogle coupe based on a Mini and the other the Hawk AC Ace replica. I thought the finish on the Hawk car was superb.

This was my personal opinion. I just wondered what other people thought of the Show and if they have their own favourites.

The Ultima outside certainly had a big crowd around it all the time I was there.

And after what my girlfriend said about it I wish I'd bid on the Ultima chassis/bodywork that was on e-bay!

Also, anyone on here own (or knows who does own) the pale blue/grey (sprayed) Locost that was in the top car park? It had Stewart Taylor rear wings (and maybe other bodywork).

Cheers,
James

Yes, I saw that too. The craftsmanship that went into that was incredible.

My girlfriend saw that car and went: "Ooh, that's nicer than yours James"

So I made her walk home....

Don't think so. Ali sides and a blue/grey nose, bonnet, scuttle, rear panel.

It had a laminated A4 sheet between the seats saying it was a Locost. Can't remember much else- pity I fogot the camera!

James

The Nostalgia Cars NC1000. Very nice looking car, but did you see the price? A turn key car would set you back around £21k...
