Xmas meet?
DIY Si - 3/12/06 at 08:04 PM

Does anyone in the (north) oxon/(south) northants area fancy a big xmas get together? Thought perhaps of joining the oxon and the nothants groups together to make a big group booking somewhere? Any suggestions/ ideas for places to go, times, dates, whether it's actually a good plan etc etc. I was thinking of something like bowling somewhere perhaps? Or take over a pub for an evening and annoy one all with car talk?

Gets my vote, we'll be lucky to find anywhere now for a big style meal.

I'm not at work for the 7-10, 17-19 if any other time you'll have to do without me(heart breaking I know)

I think we'll have a better chance a week or more before xmas if poss, as there should be less stuff on already. Oh, and I'm on call the week before xmas too!

Suggest you eat before you set out... Si is challenging for the "most number of vehicle related problems whilst attending a meet" award

DIY Si - 3/12/06 at 09:09 PM

True, but still only challenging! Besides, I probably won't have the time, or more likely the money, to fix it before then. Got a new battery for it, and now the engine makes a funny noise! Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

jollygreengiant - 3/12/06 at 09:13 PM

all things are possible, it depends on where & when.

DIY Si - 3/12/06 at 09:22 PM

So far we appear to be aiming for the week starting the 17th? How are people fixed for a Sunday evening, as things may well be quieter then?

JUD - 3/12/06 at 09:35 PM

Can't do the 22nd as I will on the lash in Manchester

Can do Sunday 17th

DIY Si - 8/12/06 at 04:28 PM

Any one got any preference for location? Obviously somewhere central (ish) would be wise, and that appears to be near me! Or round these parts, due to Mr Giant being way out east. Any ideas? Or thoughts as to an event, or are we looking at a pub type meal somewhere?

scutter - 8/12/06 at 06:24 PM

Sorry i'm having to bow out, works christmas do the sat and carol service on the sunday in southampton.

ATB Dan.

Southampton? Is there not a closer church to you?!

scutter - 9/12/06 at 09:28 AM

You know how it goes some churches don't make the grade

Apologies for the lack of anything from my part on this one folks, but the missus was in an RTA on Wednesday night and has been feeling suitably awful now she's out of hospital. Been busying playing nurse maid and hassling insurance companies. If people are still up for a get together let me know on here with dates/times and we'll see if something can be strung together.

jollygreengiant - 17/12/06 at 09:48 PM

Hope she's better soon mate.

Keep us advised & it might be possible.

scutter - 18/12/06 at 03:02 PM

Si, Give her our best, hope she's ok, Don't worry about the meet before christmas, we'll do something in the new year.

ATB Dan.

JUD - 21/12/06 at 09:35 AM

Si,

Hope she's OK soon - pass on my regards.

Suggest we meet up in the new year.

Cheers
Martin
