Stoneleigh
shortie - 17/3/07 at 09:02 AM

Just been thinking about Stoneleigh this year and reckon it would be a nice idea to have something a bit more organized for one or both days such as a BBQ at lunchtime.

There were loads of cars there last year and it would have been good to maybe have a beer and a bit of food together and a chat.

I have made alot of good friends on here and it is always really good to put names to faces so this would be a great opportunity for this.

We (paula and I) would be more than happy to sort a BBQ and some drink and then maybe people could chip in on the day to cover the cost, also we could setup some gazeebos for sunrain cover.

What do others reckon?

Rich.

P.S. In case anyone is worried we will still cook a big fry-up for breakie both mornings!!

oh my life FOOD!

Hellfire - 17/3/07 at 09:07 AM

Great idea Rich.

ReMan - 17/3/07 at 09:28 AM

Sounds good to me, I'm looking forward to it already

I hope the MK area is at least 1 car bigger this year

shortie - 17/3/07 at 09:34 AM

If it's anything like last year it will be superb! Food, Drink and Great company.

Can't wait!

NeilP - 17/3/07 at 09:44 AM

I'm hoping that we are talking about LocostBuilders here as opposed to any particular flavour?...

Different manufacturers / BECs and CECs / lolololocosts and 'I'll-never-ever-tell-the-missus-the'costs all mixed in together in one glorious example of the brotherhood of (oily)man?...

I feel some friendly competition brewing

shortie - 17/3/07 at 09:47 AM

Probably be on the MK parkingcamping bit but last year it was next to locost anyway and everyone would be welcome MK, MNR, Locost, MAC1, whatever, if you want to park your car somewhere else then that's up to you but as far as fooddrinketc goes everyone would be welcome.

Rich.

russbost - 17/3/07 at 09:58 AM

I'm hoping to get the Furore up to Stoneleigh this year, sounds like an excellent idea!

Chenti - 17/3/07 at 11:36 AM

Excellent idea...
Would my Tiger be welcome???

Home cooked food is ALWAYS better than those burger vans......

Yes, yes yes, your catering is always excellent - just tell me what to bring

Guinness - 17/3/07 at 11:49 AM

Sounds good to me! A proper social event?

I often wonder why the organisers of the shows put the different owners clubs all over the place. Why not put all the Locost / MK / MAC1 / MNR / Tiger etc all together?!

Count me in,
It will be my first Kit Car show with the Indy.
Just a spectotor last year at Stoneliegh.
PS. I only live 4 miles away if anyone wants local knowledge on the surrounding area.
Steve.

I'll second the comment on the fact that Paula's and Rich's catering is first class

Does that mean I won't need to bring the tin BBQ? Ah brekky the highlight of my Stoneleigh experience. As with Jasper, just tell me what you would like me to bring along.

ATB Dan. I best get this megajolt sorted before then.!!!

graememk - 17/3/07 at 12:41 PM

might be worth involving andy (ash3) for the owners club to do something.

ReMan,
I cant wait,
The Bar B idea by Rich is a great one it will be a great bit of fun.
Think we may need more than one on the go if there is going to be a crowd scene though
Steve

I've just packed my knife and fork

Are we all camping on the MK owners plot ?,it was a bit cramped last year unless they give us more room.

flak monkey - 17/3/07 at 01:33 PM

I will be there, not in the car though, as it wont be road legal

But I will pop along and say hi to whoevers hanging aroung. Seems like it will mainly be the MK group though.

David

chrisg - 17/3/07 at 01:46 PM

The Locost car Club will be there, next door to the MK lads.

We're having the marquee again and a barbeque too.

Which I'll schedule for a different time so that there's not too much smoke!

(And I'll be able to crash the MK one too)

cheers

Chris

Jasper - 17/3/07 at 02:12 PM

If it's wet and cold again (as it always is up north ) then you shall find me very drunk in the bar again on Sunday evening

madteg - 17/3/07 at 02:18 PM

sounds like a great idear i will be there this year in my car, carnt wait camping and all the lot.

Marlon - 17/3/07 at 03:06 PM

I'll be there too. Hopefully in the indy but if not it'll be a cob with the inlaw.

shortie - 17/3/07 at 04:20 PM

Good idea chris! I was thinking maybe sat lunchtimefor ours?

Definitely not thinking only MK, makes no difference to me whatever the car!

I will get in touch with Ash, maybe we could see if the organisers would give us a bigger area as position was great but could have done with a bit more space although I seem to remember there were hardly any cars in the one next door so maybe we can overlap a bit!

Hmmmmmm....I can smell the sausages now! yummy!!!

For the record it will have to be lunchtime as I will be in the bar with Jasper in the evening!!

Rich.

chrisg - 17/3/07 at 04:42 PM

You know the show is Sunday/Monday don't you?

I think were aiming for Sunday evening.

cheers

Chris

bob - 17/3/07 at 05:37 PM

I'll probably go sat morning, anything to get away

matt.c - 17/3/07 at 06:31 PM

BURGERS! Did anyone say BURGERS!

Sounds a great idea, But which day is everyone going?

Will be in the tin top as my donor parts dont resemble a car yet

flak monkey - 17/3/07 at 06:35 PM

I'll be there on the sunday as usual. Tends to be slightly quieter if you are trawling the auto jumble.

shortie - 17/3/07 at 08:52 PM

Sorry Chris, meant Sunday lunchtime, it maye even be sunny!!

tim windmill - 18/3/07 at 08:10 AM

are we having another convoy to stoneleigh, last years was mint.

Hellfire - 18/3/07 at 10:05 AM

We'll be able to do the journey in convoy a bit quicker than last year now that you've ditched the Pinto.

Phil

ASH3 - 18/3/07 at 11:51 AM

I booked our pitch back in Feb for 50 cars not had a reply from them yet. Awaiting reply to my email. I assume we will be on pitch 39 same as last year with a piece if not all of the site next to us not a single car used it last year
All bein well we have a Skiffle n Blues band for our entertainment

chrisg - 18/3/07 at 06:40 PM

I'd get on to them mate, we had conformation in January, they are known to forget and you don't want to be out in the wilderness again.

Cheers

Chris

desyboy - 18/3/07 at 10:13 PM

Anybody fancy a convoy up to stoneleigh from the south?

dilley - 19/3/07 at 08:10 PM

bob - 19/3/07 at 11:05 PM

I'll be poodling down the M40 around midday saturday

TangoMan - 19/3/07 at 11:25 PM

I will b there again on Sunday. I will drop into the Locost area as the Formula27 Owners Club was more of a Loners Club last year.

ukbaggio - 22/3/07 at 07:55 PM
