I've done Abingdon a few times now, good place to start off if you've never done a track day before and MSE organise it well. There are a few obstructions and dodgy remains of old airfield buildings trackside but not in places you're likely to 'off' unless your a complete nob.

A few tips for you, bring sandwiches or your own means of cooking food, the burger van is OK for teas & coffee but the food is rank.
Like all airfields it seems to have a weather system of its own, bring warm clothing! Toady on here threw a rod in the chicane last October and if you look carefully when blatting through it you can still see the stains on the tarmac!

Had an awesome day. The open pit lane system worked great. Got loads of track time even though the alternator belt started slipping and it ended up stopping the day early for us. Shame really as for the last 2 hours there was only about 5 cars out on track at the same time.

Very well organised too, top marks to MSE. Will be booking the Abingday event in July. Can recommend it especially to trackday newbies like me!

Glad to hear you had a good time with MSE.

Try Colerne next, bit more of a trek for you but a huuuuuge airfield circuit and really well laid out.

I'm there on June 30th.
