I'm the new guy I suppose but my thoughts are this:

The chances are that it's not going to be fine weather so we'll be a bunch of fellas driving our 'proper' cars drinking pop 'n' orange on a Sunday afternoon.
Pick somewhere that's commutable (for as many people as poss) to/from so we can have a few beers and have a laugh. (It's a Christmas bash, eh?)
Do it as an evening thing (friday or sat as some of us have to get up on a Monday morning)


If it was the middle of summer, a Sunday afternoon thing would be perfect.

I'll support the majority ruling and come along regardless.
