French Kit Car Show?
A quick poll.
If a kit car show was held in France would you be interested in visiting? And if so how far would you travel? You can get return crossings for
approx £50 and once over there practically everythings cheaper.
It might be combined with a general "interesting car" show to start with just to get the numbers up.

I thought kit cars were not to be built in france, the irony considering their 2CV..

Yes but this makes our cars even more appealing.
Homologation issues make it a real pain to build kit cars in France but not impossible (a builder has homologated a Westy XTR2).
There is quite a bit of pressure being applied at the moment in french government circles to get some kind of exemption / easing of the rules.
Local support is quite high. Surprisingly there are quite a lot of french track day toys currently in production which could be made to pass an SVA in
UK.

Boulogne/Dover aren't the only ports. I would be unlikely to go just for a kit car show - but then again I live in the correct part of England,
rather than near the South coast
However, if a show was near to Roscoff, and took place at the right time I would be likely to visit as I get there reasonably often anyway.

Totally agree. Dover Boulogne is just the quickest and cheapest. And I was trying to get an idea on how far people would be willing to travel.
There are a number of possible venues where we would be made VERY welcome.
Not a competitor to the UK shows as this would be more tour and show than shop.
Maybe even a discounted trackday too.

We went here last year:-
Classic British welcome
Smashing day out, but of course we were only in France for the 24 hour race. As Andy says it's a bit far for the northern based members.
Cheers

That's the kind of thing I was thinking of but as a standalone event. With more beer, food, women (well maybe not the later but who knows )
etc
My french pals are very interested in coming over here to do something similar.
