Kirkistown Sevens Race 31-03-07 photos!

Went and saw some of the lads doing the first wheel to wheel race of the season. It was a cracking race, Ricky Morgan in his Westfield Megablade eventually winning.

Ricky, the eventual winner

Colin Reid, ST Blade, Second in Class 2, 3rd overall.

Brian McGoldrick, locost blade, 3rd in class

The battle for the lead with Ricky and John Benson's 2.0l Sylva Fury.

The battle for third.

Andrew Parkinson, MK Indy Blade

Yep, there was a group buy of 13" R888s!!

There are 2 classes.

1) Under 1litre
2) over 1 litre

There were also 2 races put together,
"Sports Cars" (sevens, etc) and the "Libre Saloons" so there were some interesting tussles between, for instance, Andrew's MK Indy Blade and a touring car style Vauxhall Vectra!

It was a good race in the end up, great to hear the crowd cheering when Ricky re-took the lead with 2 laps to go!

Yes, indeed you do! This is 'proper' it's one of the races of a Formula Ford meeting, proper National B Race licenses, proper scrutineering, checking of the cars after the race, safety paramount - very well run. Pricey as well - £10 to get in to watch!!

My mate Ricky is a much better snapper then me has some photo's up

HERE

Please ignore picture 1. Thanks.

The plan was to have class 2 similar to RGB class C (unmodified blades) so at some point in the future some of the RGB crowd could come over to visit or vice versa.
Might be a good laugh!

Cheers

Ali
