Cadwell 15th Sep

Myself and a few pals are booked into this trackday on Monday. There are a couple of MK's Fury, striker, Sprint R etc entered. Anyone on here?

The Sprint R is Spig, you maybe met him at Cadwell in June? I was meant to go but too busy. Hope you have a good one!

Yes, orange / alloy locost? fellow Anchor man..
Myself and boy are still in negotiations as to which car we take. We've never driven his car round Cadwell, so it should be his "turn"... but I've just fitted a brand new cage, and wider rear wheels, and am desperate to try it out..

Decisions decisions.....

Personally if I'd just had a new rollcage fitted, I'd be hoping I DIDN'T try it out

Hi i was hoping to get there as you know Andy. But with the work schedule bursting through the roof there is no chance.

Hope yourself Pete and the guys have a good day.

Cheers Matt

Ps. Take the boat anchore. Has Pete sorted the oil issues now. Mind Cadwell would show if he has or not.

AHH take em both

Now there's an interseting prospect.. Pete has committed himself to go racing next year, and has a car lined up. He really needs to keep his Westy in one piece to finance his plans. That's my argument for taking the anchor. ...or maybe I'm just a selfish old bugger!

.....and here's hoping I dont have to test it's purpose!

Well, briefly toyed with the idea of taking both cars if the weather forecast behaved it's self, but looking at it, I'd guess we'll have some dampness at some point in the day.. Pete's car looking favorite at the moment..

Good day today, weather bone dry all day! Car went really well up untill a mounting lug on the alternator broke. Late in the afternoon, so not too dissapointed.

Will get some pics up tomorrow, and there should be some video about in the next few days.

Hi

Good too hear you had a good day with decent weather also.
I had that feeling ( I wish was somewhere else ) yesterday while working.

How did hobbsy in his red Fury get on.

Cheers Matt

Great photos! It almost looks like I'm pulling away from that exige!

Fab day only only spoiled by a persistent misfire which ended play an hour early.

Afternoon Gents,

I didn't spot this thread as I'm a lazy mofo who only looks at the latest threads on the front page rather than delving into the categories - hence I miss a load of stuff!

It was me in the Red Fury - felt loads better after the setup by Matt and Ivan at Procomp.

There were a few issues along the way that they dealt with at 11th hour (requiring welding!!! ) but I'll post them up in a different thread once I've got the photos down etc. They will make interesting reading to anyone else who's got a Fury with a "race" chassis anyway!

Nice photos there Andy D - I've just sent you a PM as I wouldn't mind them in higher resolution!

I'm chuffed the weather stayed dry as it was my first time at Cadwell and I was a bit nervous!

Main downer was my mates engine going after about 2 laps (yellow Westy SEiW with a XE engine) - woodruff key snapped on crank so valves have met pistons - I put a wanted post up here on his behalf last night.

A few pics on thier way.

And, here's Pete's latest video offering. some nice rear shots featuring a yellow and orange Busa Fury.
The silver Caterham is a beast, 300bhp + Duratec.

Cadwell Video

Enjoy.

I second the comment on the Silver Caterham, I knew he was quicker so I let him past out of Barn on to the main straight but as I got back on the power the rate at which he pulled away from me was the quickest I think I saw all day!

Just downloading the photos now - thanks for that I appreciate it, I'll reply to the email too.

Will check out the video later as I'm at work!

The Caterham looked rapid, although looked a little soft on the back end through the corners, but the duratec's are the way to go if you have the £££££££,the busa fury looked cool but I think your zetec westy had the edge performance and handling wise,it looked very busy though,I do think they let too many cars on the track at any one time at Cadwell, with it being such a twisty circuit.

It did get a bit busy at times, and there were one or two desperately slow cars, that did get in the way.
A bit of vid from the Caterham below, having a near miss with a Pug towards the end. I'm not saying it's all the Pug drivers fault, possibly too great a difference in speed... We were taking Coppice with just the slightest of lifts, but some were braking, and it could catch you out..

340bhp anyone?

I was lucky the track always seemed to be empty when I went out. Maybe I was one of the desparately slow cars!

Yes, I had at least one session where I felt a bit lonely. I prefer something about the same pace to play with.. but there were sessions where you just went from one queue to the next.

..And no, I wasn't refering to you as being slow. How can your car be slow with God's own engine installed! I think the worst car was the hired Pug 205, it really managed to get in the way. Fair enough, we all have to start somewhere, it's not racing, etc etc, but ........
