A Big thanks to all at Stoneleigh
Following on from my earlier thread (http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=135178) I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone that
I spoke to at Stoneleigh yesterday. I must have asked a thousand questions to manufacturers and owners alike and everyone was extremely helpful and
willing to offer help and advice.
The day proved to be very valuable in gaining advice from people and it's helped me narrow down my options. How I'm going to narrow
those down further to just one kit, I have no idea (there are so many awesome cars out there), but I'm sure I'll manage somehow.

I'll defintely be over for the next Essex club meet.
After looking around I was started to be put off the Sierra as a single donor as the pinto is a little down on power and putting a zetec in with all
the necessary extras sounded a bit costly so that helped me narrow down some of my options.
At the moment the top two on my list are:
-GKD Legend - I like the single BMW donor and the price
-MEV Sonic - I love the looks and the price is good, my only worry is getting a suitable soft top, but I'll do some research into that.
Others that I also liked:
- MNR Vortx
- Roadrunner SR2 - I had a long chat to the guys on the stand and their enthusiasm was infectious, but I'm not sure whether such a new kit to
the market would have all the teething troubles sorted that may make life for an amateur too hard.
Finally, I think the following two will end up outside of my budget and the body work could be a bit tough for a first kit, but they both look so
gorgeous:
- Fury
- J15
It looks like I have many sleepless nights ahead of me trying to decide.

I would give the SR2 serious consideration. Very experienced guys behind the project and with all of the thoughtful ideas incorporated i think it
will turn out to be one of the easier builds out there, especially from a bodywork perspective.

I thought it looked the dog's danglies very well thought out, light and strong and the huge "racing cage" actualy itegrated and
braced to some strong points , unlike some others where 2" tubes joined to flimsy bodywork suports . Liked the MNR as well . MX5 doner has to be
a good way to go at the moment either that or 318 BMW. MEV Sonic 7 is also the pick of the breed, very nice looking car. have fun
