North West Meets/Owners

Hello,

My 1st post I think.

Are ther any meetings in the North West?
If not then I'm wanting to start one on a X 1st day of every month or whatever.
They all seem miles away.
So it would be nice to know even if there is already a meet who lives close by.

I went to Newark and was I little dissapionted at the lack of interest I got trying to talk to members in the Locost 7 area. Hope they where all just busy as I have been reading about the forum and it seems you're a very frendly bunch realy!
I have owned VWs and own a Porsche and find the peeps you meet up with are very down to earth and helpful to the extream. Which is good as i'd do anything for anybody to help um out (no sly commants please) not happy unless my hands are dirty!

Anyhow. it wont be long before I'm back on the raod after rebuilding, painting etc...only to have a Woman reverse in to me at a set of lights the 1st week back on the road. So while the insurance was paying, took it upon myself to add and change a few things more.

Hope to see a few Local Locost 7s soon.

I'm in Bolton and would be interested in meet-ups too, maybe a nice pub with a decent car park somewhere?

Cheers

Rick

COOL,
Glad there’s a few local bods.
I live in Sharples on the Belmont border.
(Known as the Templcombe Estate)
I know it seems selfish as I could quite easily walk to it, but there's a Pub on the main road that’s ideal.
It’s the Wilton Arms.
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?pc=BL1+7BT&title=Wilton+Arms&scale=25000

I was thinking of the 1st Friday of every Month??
Open to suggestions of course!

:~)

On a separate note, Just painted the Nose cone..although for some reason had to cut two small holes either side on this one for the rad mounts...I know there’s all different types of nose cones but it looked the same as the damaged one I took off. Can only think it’s higher in the "mouth" as it were. But at least she'll be back on the road for the weekend all being well. So if any of you local chaps wanna meet this weekend (weather perm) we can have a chin wag.
Would like to chat about using for motor sport..Sprint racing was favourite but maybe Hill climb or anything else? Would be nice to speak with anyone that’s done it, get idea of costs etc..
The cars been built with that in mind..

Hi There

Theres also several Rhoods in the blackburn area, not excatly locosts but we all have them same interests,
what about this friday?.

There is talk of a local autotesting club setting up a new series, bit easier on the cars than normal autotesting, plans are a bit sketchy at the mo, but if theres plenty of interest then im sure it would be a goer.
will try and get some more info
Mitch

WOW didn't realise how big the image was...This is the damage done in Westhoughton...
Women reversed in to me on Cricketers Way while waiting to turn right on to Leigh Rd..She was in the wrong lane and wanted to go strieght on...
At least she admitted to it and Her insurance sent me a cheque for £1200..
So 3 nose cones, Remote oil filter, Oil cooler, New headlights, New Dash with extra guages, spots, New badge, Cam Cover (still to arrive), Indicators, Wingmirrors with indicators blarr blarr....

This Friday sounds top...but I'd think it wise that I check with the pub, should'nt think it an issue as sure we are all sensible drivers.
