Next North Oxon/South Nhampton meet

I realise cheffy may be on holiday which may make this a little pointless as yet, but I thought we might as well get going. Basically, who's up for crashing cheffy's place in Bleinham Palace?! If I remeber right, the vague (very vague) plan was a bbq at the end of the month. Can anyone remeber what dates he said? Also can't remember if we said to make it wednesday again, or go for a possibly more doable weekend day.
Any thoughts folks?

Cheffy's last words on the subject from the old meet thread you started:

Right guys, re BBQ.

I'm off to Malta from the 11th August till the 25th. Therefore, the first Wednesday after I get back would be Wednesday 30th August, although I'm almost certainly working that night.

How would everyone be fixed for Wednesday 6th September? Hopefully the weather will still be half decent.

Martin. (cheffy)

Bugger, I'm on call then too!

Don't think he has definitely nailed a date - merely a suggestion.

Best to wait till he is back so we can get a majority vote on what works for most people.

I have a feeling I'll be in India on business for a fair amount of September

That must be terrible! A nice warm place where it probably isn't raining! Any ideas as yet which dates you will be in the country/area?

Warm isn't the word. 46 degrees is a bit hot for my liking

Difficult to name dates as they are client visits, so I am at the mercy of clients arranging their travel and then fit in around them. All I know is that I will probably be in India for 1 or 2 weeks in September. By the time Cheffy is back I should have a better idea.

Also want to make sure I am around for Bruntingthorpe which is at the end of Sept

Hi Guys.

Right, back safely in the sunny UK.

Definately working this Wednesday. Assuming I'm off the following Wednesday, the 6th, how's everybody fixed then? You still on call then Si, you still in India Martin?

I'm open to suggestions - well polite ones anyway.

Mart

Not India - but Bristol!

Should be OK, but may be a little late pending traffic.

What time you thinking of starting?
Is it "blokes only" or "missus and snappers" as well?

India starts on the 18th until the end of the month

Hi Martin. Yea, wives & kids all welcome - the more the merrier!

What about everyone else? Si, will you be able to make the 6th or are you definately on call? I've got no problems with changing the date, the only problem for me is making sure I've got the night off. Also, if we're still going for a BBQ we need to sort something fairly soon before the weather gets too bad.

With regard to the BBQ itself, how about if I organise supplying the food and everybody chucks a couple of quid towards it on arrival - I just need to get an idea of numbers.

As for drink, how about if everybody brings whatever they want to drink with them? Or, if it's easier, I don't mind getting it in and people can settle up with me when they get here?

What does everybody think. I'm open to (polite ) suggestions!

Cheers,

Mart.

PS. Start about 7'ish?

Still on call I'm afraid. And I won't even finish work until 8pm as it is. Whilst a different date would be better for me, I have no objections to missing this one if more people want the 6th.

Martin,

I am OK for the 6th, but see what others can manage. Suggestions on paying for food sounds good.

I would have though bring your own drink would be easier?

Right, so DIY Si and Chris Russell can't do the 6th. At the moment that just leaves me and Martin (JUD). What about pushing it back a week to the 13th? How does that work for everybody? Martin, you said India starts on the 18th, would you be good for the 13th?

Mart.

Excellent. The 13th it is then.

As previously mentioned, I'll organise the food and everybody brings whatever they're drinking with them. Fingers crossed for a decent days weather!

If you guys could confirm how many you're bringing with you to give me an idea of numbers for the grub.

Hi Dan,

I was thinking of starting about 7'ish. I'm happy for it to go on as long as people want to stay. That way it's early enough for those with kids to come for an hour or two, but also those without kids can arrive and/or stay a bit later if they wish.

Hopefully I'll be off all day so I can start as early as people want. What do others think?

Mart.
