Hi,
There was a Cannon Trials car on Locost Stand @ Donnington.
I wanted a look but the Guy left before I had chance.
Does anyone have anymore details ?
I haven't found much despite a "Google"
Cheers

Hi, I can give you a basic idea of how Cannons came into being.
There was, and still is, a National trials Formula (NTF) for what some people call "Mud Plugging".
Mike Cannon designed and built a devastating Special based on the side valve Ford 1172 engine and 3 speed gearbox. It was very light and the driver
and bouncer sat over the rear axle for maximum traction. They (the cars) had "Fiddle Brakes" which were two levers operating each rear
wheel independantly. This facilitated tight turns and stopped wheelspin.
There are still a number of Cannons competing regularly on the MCC Classic Trials (for roadgoing cars). Some of them have more modern clockwork and of
course lights etc.
I hope this helps and will perhaps provide you with sufficient information to find out more about what was of it type a classic of its day.

Is it a bit like the "Sporting Trials" Section on the 750MC website?
