Le Mans camp site???
Hi gents
Which of the above camp sites should I book for Le Mans this year?
I have been a bit slow of the mark, Haux Annexe and Karting Nord have now sold out (if anyone knows of spare tickets for these two I will pay good
money).
I’m usually in the above mentioned sites and like the more lively atmosphere, please suggest pros and cons for the options I have available. We have 3
cars and 6 people going!
Has anyone used Chapelle in the last couple of years, used to be rough and cramped but may have changed!
cheers

I used the camp site next to the circuit for the 24hr bike endurance and it was lively to say the least- french bikers takin their zorst cans off and
redlining their bikes with continuous backfiring, (all through night), but also some entertaining stunts goin on aswell!!!
facilities were ok, toilets/showers were pretty good.
I dont suppose the car racing weekends are as rowdy as the bikes but i may be wrong!
cheers

A bit of a threadjack, but where did you get your LM tickets from? I've been looking at a gang of us going in a minibus & camping, but one
of the gang reckons tickets aren't on sale yet.......
TIA

try these chaps
www.justtickets.co.uk
you do need to buy 2 spectator tickets with each camping plot but it will work out nice and cheap if you take a mini bus full!
Watched a group of chaps rebuild their F reg transit van in Haux last year, very entertaining the exhaust was held together with beer cans and wire
coat hangers!
think they went on sale around November last year

I'm going for the first time this year with some mates, two of whom are regulars at le mans. The guy who is organising the trip sent out an
email including this quote:
Beausejour campsite, which is about 15-20 minutes walk from the main grandstand but 2-3 minutes from the Porsche curves. It's also very handy
for getting to either the inside or outside of the circuit, is a short drive from Indianapolis and Arnage corners, and a short stagger from Arnarge
village, a normally sleepy little village which turns into the best open air pub / drag strip for the week!
I dont know anything at all about the other sites, but i cant wait to get there!! Shame i'm not going in the Indy

Maison Blanche is a good site. Security is good as it is inside the track entrance so it is also handy for track walkabouts and returning for a cool
beer.
The only downside is that it can be busy getting in and out of the track on racedays.
Oh, and it is near the entrance so you can use the toilets/showers outside on Parking Bleu to avoid the queues early in the week.
Summer's here!!!!

sleep prior to the race and great action during the race

Beausejour was ok last last year, apart from rather limited shower facilities (BIG queues) and the foul stench at the entrance where the lorries were
pumping s**t out of the underground tanks. Amazingly someone decidied that putting a bar right next to this was a good idea (not that anyone should
be using the campsite bars unless you are either very rich or desperate!).
The campsite had the usual share of idiots doing donuts, and some dutch people showing hard core porn with a project and big screen which I thought
was in pretty bad taste as there were quite a lot of kids around. However, you get this kind of thing in every campsite.

Beausejour has steadily got bigger and bigger. Last year they (IMHO) made it a little too large but was still OK. I like the location as you can get
your car out pretty much whenever you want without having to think about the traffic jams past the main entrance...

You would be lucky to get in Maison Blanche now, but some agents may have tickets left.
So out of the rest I would recommend Bleu Nord, as long as you get there on the wednesday so you can get near the toilet block.
Its about 5 mins walk to the grandstands on the pit straight and the traffic isnt too bad outside, except on race day when you would be crazy to drive
anywhere anyway.
How about Houx Annexe, a very popular site.
