Northants/Oxon meet

Right, since the Xmas meet went a bit pear shaped, I thought it best we had a New Years meet at some point! How busy are people at the mo? I know Cheefy?martin is busy for a while, and Jud may have to jet off to the Caribbean or somewhere else warm and sunny , but how's everyone else fixed? Given the early closing in of the night, would people prefer a mid week or weekend meet? I'm thinking of the Green Man again for a nice central location.

Nope, just down (well north as it happens) the road from Silverstone. It's the PH in the middle of this map.

Si, as you know I am always up for a trip out!

Dan (Scutter) is sorting one for next week - check this thread http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=57836

Missed the Sunday outing as I had a bit on - long story which I can recount over a relaxing pint.

Green Man is fine for me. Only trip I have penciled at the moment is India in the 1st/2nd week of Feb for the Airshow there.

Bring the 205 so we can have a look at it.

Cheers

Martin

I would go to then one scutter's planing but it's bit far, and I think on a course in brum all week anyways.
Just to give people notice, how's about the last sunday of the month? The 28th? I may even have had time to fix mine by then too!

Si, The end of the month sounds good, doubt mine will be back together by then maybe end of Feb. Still doesn't stop us going out in the tintop.

I tell you having no power is now hampering the progress and you would believe how much rust can build up over 12000 miles, still no cracks found yet.

You not rid of that drain pipe cage yet? Looks ok for such mileage. Mine probably looks worse than that!
Oh, any preference on time of day? Lunchtime, afternoon or evening? I'll be damned if I'm getting up early on a Sunday!

No the cage is staying, turns out to be 3.2mm not 5.5 like I thought, found a left over piece in the barn. Lots of surface rust between panels even though they were painted.

A Sunday lunchtime pint's always nice, then i can make it home for the roast at 4

Good point that. Shall we say 12.30-1 o'clock (ish) ? Should give and all time to get home for tea. And me plenty of time to have a nice bacon butty before heading out!

Since Judd requested a reminder, now seemed like a good time. This Sunday (28th), 12.30 for 1 at the Green Man near Silverstone. Anyone extra wishing to join in, you're more than welcome. The more the merrier.

Yep, definately working but should be better for midweek meets either at The Green Man or round Oxford from Feb onwards.

Cheers,

Mart.

Woah I never bother looking at this section of the site - didn't know there was so much going on sorta round my area!!

I'd love to pop along on sunday to say hello, only due to unfortunate elderly relative based bad news i'll not be able to make it. Is this a monthly thing then? Would be up for feb i'm sure.

Not that the beast will be quite finished...

It's monthly-ish! This is supposed to be our xmas meet!
Oh, sorry to hear about the elderly relative. I think we're aiming for a roughly end of month regular thing. Many of us work shifts so it varies a fair bit. Sometimes over this way (Green Man), or more out Oxford way, Sturdy's Castle I think. There's another meet near Wellingborough sorted out by JollyGreenGiant, and an Oxford one done by Scutter IIRC.

Cheers for the condolences. Been a sad and tiring day .

Sounds cool. Would be nice to blag an inspirational ride in a nice machine too . Got mates in oxford so there quite a bit, so either location suits me.

Will keep my eye on this forum section in future...

I think the meets are spread round the month, so there's a fair chance of catching at least one of them. Given nice weather and working cars there should be at least two at each meet. Me and Dan/Scutter are running fairly equal on breakdowns at meets though!
