No historic F1 or F3000 cars this year then? Been a few times and to be honest imho they (and more specifically the noise they make) are usually the only thing really worth paying the entry for! The racing always seems a bit, I don't know... flat somehow - you get much better actual racing for your money at a decent 750MC meeting.

Yeah but Silverstone is unfortunately possibly the worst 750MC meeting in their calender to go to in terms of seeing exciting racing - both because the circuits not very exciting for the majority of types of car racing and also there's no where to stand (or sit) where you can actually see an exciting bit of the circuit.

You've got to do it once to stand in the pit lane and garages at a race meeting and pretend you're Lewis Hamilton (or Ron Dennis if you're not the driver) but it was by far my least favourite 750 race of the year

But I can be at Oulton in 40 mins.

I was thinking of a very early start, cruise down to Whitchurch/Prees while the roads are empty, big fry-up at the Raven cafe, back up to Oulton, sit in the sun (!?), then home.

Transport cafe about 1-2 mile south of Whitchurch at Prees Heath. Biggest portions youi'll ever find.
