Megasquirt tuning- GATESHEAD 25-26Th

Well that got every ones attention, im after some help @ my house this weekend in gateshead too help me figure out my Megasquirt/engine problems if there are anytakers???



tea and coffee on request..(possible bacon butties- depends if i get time to get some)

The car has just arrived from being away for over 1 year now which was supposed to take 3 weeks and be SVAed....im pretty fuming actually(but we will forget about that for now)

Ive just cleaned the garage, the car and battery is charging so i went through what i need for SVA and what i need to do to the car but cant because im a idiot.

1) Clutch doesnt have any fluid in- so i guess it has a leak....great(thanks for telling me when i tried to put it in to gear

2) Im getting run on even when i remove the keys, this might be the alternator or the megasquirt setup and too much fuel from being too rich....i just dont know

3) LC1 lamda kit isnt fitted its still in box..... no wondered it failed emmisons

and a bit of wiring to tidy, which was but now isnt...which i dont mind cause im a electricery engineer.


P.s does anyone know wher i can get a dipstick for a Zetec(mine is broke) and scrap yard wont sell one without the engine- £200 for a dipstick is a bit steep.

Sounds like you have been let down big style by the pro place you have entrusted. Not nice at all. I dont think i could be as calm as you under the circumstances.

I hope the ne7ers lot will come up trumps. I wish i could help but ive never looked into megasquirt before.

Ref dipstick - do ford not sell them?

Yea mate, after all my wee ups ive totally give up arguing about my car, ive actually nearly set it on fire a few times over the past week and still aint totally sure what to do as the ECU is still a mine field.

Anyway Ne7ers, mike, ricco, andre, peter and my mates colin and matty helped over the weekend, we found out that the ECU was loaded with wrong firmware and it didnt like to talk to any of our laptops- new usb cable and borrowed laptop on its way, along with new firmware.

last night i removed the engine and the cable that has been chopped off in the clutch housing and ordered one from burton power.....£38

Dipstick...still needed

and all SVA items are required.
