Alternative stoppers anyone?
My Velocity XT is presently running with discs all round, Sierra discs/callipers at the front, on 15" wheels.
I would like to improve the stopping power of the vehicle and was wondering what alternative larger disc/caliper set ups there are about.

If they're good enough for a Sierra, they should be good enough for your Luego. Have you tried different pads such as Mintex 1144's or
Ferodo DS2500's?

have you thought about 4-pot hi-specs or Wilwoods, with green stuff pads!

We have four pot hi-spec calipers with greenstuff pads and TBH, they're no better than the standard Sierra stuff, which were equally as good but
just a bit heavier.

A smaller bore master cylinder may help at the expense of increased pedal travel

You could always find some granada cosworth calipers and 2wd cosworth discs will give you 283mm front brakes and it will still fit under a 15 inch

try EBC greenstuff or red stuf pads they make a huge difference

Green stuff are dangerous for road use in my opinion, i have them on the 205 and they only work when they are HOT.
I drove about a mile at 70mph with my foot resting on the brake then i dabbed them and nearly broke my neck! during normal road use thay are nothing
short of scary.
Im going back to standard ferodo road pads now and will keep the green stuff for the track.

Master cylinder --- smaller bore required.
Both Caterham and Westfield use a 0.7" bore tandem master cylinder.

i stuck with the same master cylinders and calipers, but whacked 300mm discs on the front.
more than enough :-)

I have Sierra 4x4 260mm discs on the front of my Viento and can lock them up at 90 mph.
Some better tyres might help! Its not the brakes fault!

locking wheels is not a sign of good brakes im affriad.
good brakes are those that allow a quick controlled slowdown with no lock up.
