Hi, I'm a little off topic here but rust is something that I'm sure we all learn a lot about when building the chassis!
I am building a new back box for my crappy road car as I wanted the experience to learn about exhausts and play with the welder for the first time. I
have the necessary mild steel and will probably use engine paint for the bulk of the unit, however I wanted to try and retain a silver-ish pipe on the
back so I need to stop it rusting but don't really want to paint it.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Adam.
Have it galvanised? Chrome plated? etc etc
You could always have it coated... with coloured ceramic?

Ah Galvanising, that's a good idea! I've been having a look at cold galvanising sparays, they seem to be ok at around 170 Deg. Centigrade which is quite unlikely on a back box I suppose?
