is this safe?

So i kinda dont wanna use the round tubing on the back end to make it look nice with the aluminum panel. I kinda dont wanna even have the ali panel. i wanna make the rear fender and the back panel one piece fiberglass so i can put some aero in the back end and make it look nice with flush rear lights. so is it safe to not have that rear panel and maybe replace it with some triangulation in the rear end tubing? Is it safe for the fuel cell there? since its only got fiberglass rear end to protect it and maybe some tubing.

My rear panel on my locost is fibreglass. I would imagine if u do away with the round tube u will still need to have some form of frame in there to put the strength back.

The Indy chassis only has a bar at the bottom of the chassis, and that's really only to hold the fuel tank in place - the top simply fixes to the rollber mounts.

I'll try and post a pic

Here goes - hopefully it'll help answer your question (not entirely sure what you're getting at though, so forgive me a bit!): Rescued attachment Nice Ali fuel tank from MK.JPG

If you make the glass panel with stiffeners in it it should be fine.
