Roll cage

What are the sva requirements on a rollcage. I want to fit a full one to mine when i build it but what is allowed for the sva.

I don't think that there is any restriction on roll cages. The only thing that effects them is if you fix your seat belts to them, and in that instance they need to be IIRC 2" CD tube. HTH Ray

im sure fozzie ( on here )
passed her sva no problems and she had one fitted

Yes, I passed SVA, (a first time pass) with roll cage in situ.

My roll cage is a 'bolt' in as opposed to welded, so I just made sure all was covered and the bolts were of the correct tensile.

Another thing for them to inspect, but worth it, I think!

Shortie has a roll cage like mine, but, welded in, he didn't have a problem with the cage being there either.

I,d have thought you would be best off making one to MSA spec then you are future proofed for racing/sprinting etc and could increase resale value.

Absolutely!

Exactly what I did.....

TBH I assumed that is why people have roll cages, to either race/sprint/trackday, and if you are going to do any of these it makes good sense to make it/have it made to the 'Blue Book'..... (and for race you have to anyway! )

Just hoop and brace bars to the back. Nothing very posh, but as I said its only a prop. Ray
