Indoor Car Cover
Michael - 9/1/12 at 10:30 PM

Like most when my car is finally road legal, it will not be used in the winter weather, so will be in the garage stored.

As the garage is quite dusty and at times seems to sit in a wind tunnel, so gets covered in leaves from the garden too.

What is the best indoor car cover but at a reasonable cost.

I am not sure if the ones from Argos are any good.

Thanks.

argos do a couple the cheaper one is the better in my opinion as it has a bit of a flock on the underside

Car builder solutions do a nice cheap one, they were on offer a while ago about 18 quid if my memory serves me

Never used one and its doing less work than an outside cover but i think the key would be for it to be soft on the inside to prevent paint damage and breathable, or atlease with vents. That said, i wouldnt want to be paying much for mine.

I tend to tinker, not cover it up, and generally leave it in a right state over winter (it currently doesnt even have a sump on the engine ) and then give it a good clean and hoover in spring. Not really the right way but at the moment all is a bit chaotic!

I use old duvets, they are breathable, and have fire retardent built in,
This saved my car in the garage fire july 2010!

Interesting. Presumably only a minor fire, but an interesting added bonus for sure!

Yes that is an intersting one.

The only problem I have had was during the reworks for IVA (failed early december 2010) was a flood from over head water pipe, soaked everything in the garage including filly my car with water and I have seam sealed the floor. It proved that the seam seal worked as I had an inch of water inside cabin area and had to mop it out.

I was reworking the bottom outer seat belt mounts so had no seats in the car thankfuly.
