Help -Powdercoat color advice needed!
HELP -
I need to make a final decision on the color / type of powdercoat for a frame. The body is bright red.
I'm considering bright silver (if it exists), yellow, red and ??
Any opinions or examples would be greatly appreciated.

Black ?

I'd go for silver or black, as they'll go with any colour the car ends up.
Probably silver would work better to break the red up, to my eyes, anyway.

Frame powder coat colors
Black -
I've had black frames before and in my opinion found that it was the worse choice possible. Lighter colors make inspection a lot easier.
Silver-
Seems like a good potential choice but I've never used it before and don't know what different silvers are available.
Yellow -
I've used it before and now looking for something else.
Red -
I've seen red frames I liked but a red body and red frame might be too much.
Any experience / pics?

I used black metalwork on my red se7en, which I think looks great.
In many ways I wish I'd gone with silver or matt grey. Whe I now need to adjust my pedals etc. it's like working in a black hole where
silver powder coating would make things a little more visible

Gray, black sucks all the light out of the car. I've had both and won't do black again.
Than again, why on earth anyone asks for color advice I'll never understand. We aren't living with that color, you are. It's like
asking, "which should I like more, blonde or brunette?" Huh? What do you like?

One of the reasons I asked for advice on the color to use for the frame was to hopefully find a great solution I hadn't thought of or possibly
seen before.
I am definitely not a paint expert, I'm in the US, and the car is being built in the UK so there is a real possibility that there are colors or
types of paint I don't have any knowledge of. Most but obviously not all of the people on this forum are from the UK so they could have 1st hand
knowledge.
It would obviously be helpful to hear for example that certain reds turn to pink over time, or a particular silver flakes off for some reason or
conversely works extremely well.
Another reason I asked about color was to see what other builders thought looked best.
And yes I do have certain likes which is the reason I won't be buying white wheels and painting the frame blue.
Perhaps I should have asked if anyone has used a particular kind of paint and what their experience was either good or bad.

What ever colour you choose make sure the chassis is shot blasted before the powder coating is done, you don't want to have to strip the car
down to the bare chassis again to rectify the powder coating falling off . How do I know?

black, and make sure you have some black gloss handy to repair any chips. I had a powdercoated frame on a norton 500 commando, got a few chips and
ignored them, layed the bike up for the winter and when spring came, wheeled it out in to the daylight to descover water/salt had gotten in between
powder coat and metal and caused loads of grief. full strip down, blasting, coating and rebuild. no biking that year

Mine is grey, and some of it is white. I wish I'd done shiny black. It just looks better on the lower front wishbones that I painted in that
"colour". Black is not a colour you see.
