Luego Viento diff mount

Hi guys

Have one of the origional chassis from the previous owner of Luego. Looking at Sierra diff mounting, it is only mounted using the 2 long through bolts, not at the front or rear. Surely this is not enough, especially as targetting 240 hp. Any thoughts?

Thanks

2 long bolts are the norm. Mines 270bhp and 309ftlb and it's not broken off yet!!

Thanks for that, appreciate it. As a belts and braces type of guy, I might just weld on a couple of 4mm tabs to pick up on the front mounts. Am at that stage of adding mountings plates as opposed to drilling through chassis tubes prior to repowdercoating.

Early Luego chassis powdercoating was rubbish

It's really not needed. If you want to add the original rear mount then do that otherwise leave well alone

Extra mounts are NOT needed. The standard Luego Diff mounts have coped with all engine installations to date. From pinto to V8 (3.5 litre to 4.6litre and american LS1) including BMW straight six, (jag I think) Ford Cosworth BOA V6. No one has had any problems so far. The ONLY luego that had different ( I think ) diff mount was the one with the Viper V10 engine. But that was more to do with the American diff choice.

Thanks Guys. I bow to the knowledge of the web and the experience out there. was just concerned as both Raw, MK & Westfield have multiple mount points.

Raw doesn't use the rear. The rear isnt a support anyway, its a rubber stabiliser/isolator.
I did see on here a few years ago someone failed IVA as the inspector didnt like the empty bolt holes on the back of the diff.
