AVO coil overs vs Protec
Been looking with interest at AVO steel single adjustable coilovers at http://www.avouk.com/pm/79. At £60.00
them seem resonable. Has anyone has any experience or opinions with them or the aluminum double adjustable ones at http://www.avouk.com/pm/71 for
£145.00 or Protec ones?

Have used both, though not on a locost (though have Protech for the Locost)
In my opinion the Protech win hands down, as they are MUCH lighter, and look at MNR for prices, just over £300 for a set of 4 Protech including
springs!!!!! They are actually cheaper on there than the GAZ ones.
Quality wise, I would bet (though I have not had them apart) that they use pretty much the same internals, and so are as good (or as bad!) as each
other in that respect, but they are both rebuildable so don't panic too much on the reliability front.

MK supplied my Protechs at a very reasonable price.

I have heard on the grapevine that the man who owns Protech used to be the head man at AVO.
So i should imagine that they are fairly similar inside and the quality should be the same if not better.
I would go with the aluminium bodied Protechs everytime!

I had considered using Darrens coil overs at GTS, but he said they were out of stock and he's been quite busy lately and recomended Protecs that
he also carries. Knowing his back ground I'd consider that a good recomendation also.
Thanks all
