Trans tunnel clearance

To fit my gearbox i need about another inch of room at the engine end of the trans tunnel. If i move the "H" upright across into the passenger footwell as the book suggests im assuming i would need to mount the engine slightly off centre for it to be central to the tunnel. Would this matter?

Many engine installations run with the engine off centre. My Tiger has a Pinto/type 9 with a 25mm offset. HTH

"just like that !"

Cheers for that. My trans tunnel is about 7 and 3/4 inch and it needs to be about 8and a half for the g box to fit in enough. So i take the space from the passenger footwell and shift the engine across? Super. Cheers mate!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the crossflow supposed to be 3/4" off centre?
