Gearchange/Handbrake Console Fab

I have started making up a console to house the gearstick & handbrake lever. I am after advice on gearstick lengths suitable for the Blackbird engine.

Its a nice straight ish run to the gear shaft, so I will probably be using a threaded rod..

What amount of forward/rearward throw will the stick need please ?

I think this is a how long is a piece of string type thread
The lever above the pivot, on mine, is about 4 times longer than the lower, I drilled around 4 holes in the lower bit, extended the gear lever on the box, and drilled a series of holes in that too. Then I played around with the pivot points until it felt ok, I think I have around 50mm lever throw in each direction.
