Ground clearance / sump and chassis

First time on site - what a great lot of info! I have a 7 replica and am juggleing a Nissan SR20DET around in the engine bay. Many ??? like whats an acceptable sump clearance? Old coil overs don't seem to be holding it up much - what new ones?- what chassis ground clearance is OK? Has any one else run 2L turbo and solved cooling problems I have heard about? Chassis is a faithful copy of a S3 and used to have a Xflow. Have a Nissan GTIR intercooler set up to mount in nose cone.

Depends on expected road conditions!

Here in the UK we seem to have settled on a recommendation of 4" / 100mm.

If you decide to chop the sump you may find that the limiting factor is the rim of the bellhousing - that's certainly the case with X-flows and Pintos.
