I understand there is a specific dimension for the front upper ball joint, which allows the correct camber setting. Can any one tell me what it is and
where you measure it from???
Cheers Mike
I don't know if there is a specific camber setting you should set Mike as I think it is dependent on what you want to do with your car when finished. Generally camber is set to help cornering, I think i'm right in saying most put on negative camber i.e. top of wheels are closer to each other than the bottom, if you know what i mean?? Put a search on the forum as I think its quite a popular topic!!
Ive just set mine up roughly last night. I held spirit level up against the bottom of the rim. Set it vertical and set the top to be in about 15mm.
Rim is 415mm dia so this gives me approx 2 degs of -ve camber.
Suspension needs to be settled on the floor each time you measure, correct tyre pressures etc. I dont know if 2 degs is right but its good enough for
me at this stage of the build. Position of the mushroom adaptor also affected my measurement - i set both so that castor was max forward before
adjusting the camber.
