gear change, who has them

For you who have the cable gear change, what cables and where did you get them from please.

Got mine from MNR.

Pleased with it and feels nice and positive but...

Almost as soon as Id fitted it I read something about rod based linkages placing less residual load on the forks and dogs after the change and so less likely to wear out the gearbox.

Im not sure Im concerned enough to change it since theres plenty of cable change cars running perfectly well - I think what I might do differently next time though is to mount the far end of the cable on a plate attached to the engine rather than the chassis to try and minimise the effects of movement in the engine relative to the chassis affecting the gearbox.

Hope that helps?!

i think what you need to do is let it loose by 1mm in that situation you can feel with your hands if you lever the little gearlever or not.

because thats what you wnat to know did it retun to its home position??

for every gear that position differs a bit and by letting it loose you secure your self that it never is pulling already a bit on the gear change lever.

Tks
