fuel tank straps

Bugger I think I've made a bit of a cock up!!

I've fitted the rear brake union at the top of the curved chassis rail in front of one of the flat tank bars that the tank sits on.
Now I've realised that's the location the front of the tank straps mounts to the chassis!
Can anyone posts links of the tank straps mounted to the chassis and what size bolts are used. Also do the front tank strap fasteners go clean through the chassis rail or are rivnuts used.
If the bolts are straight through I'll have to drill out the rivnut, will this probably come out with the drill bit when I drill it out?

Sorry for the lengthy thread but answers appreciated as I'm feeling pretty angry with myself for such an obvious mistake and the sooner I can sort it out the better for my blood pressure!!!
