Exhaust manifold?
Hello there
I have been looking around for a manifold/silencer etc to fit my 1.8CVH. I read on here that westie do them, trouble is the are around £500 new.. I
have searced ebay etc but had no joy.
Can anyone advise where I can look? Its not that I am a tight git but the Westfield stuff seems overpriced.
PS Treid MK who told me "No we dont do them for the CVH" Thanks for the support lads....

Are the 1800 and 1600CVH exhaust manifolds the same?
If they are, then ex westie 1600 ones often pop up on ebay. This may not be the permanent source that you are after though!
Edit: Again, if the 1600 are the same and you're feeling a little creative, XR2/3 tubular manifolds go for penuts on ebay. It wouldn't be
too hard to modify one of these to fit your application.

As above contact Martin Keenan at MK Engineering (not MK Sportscars). He will be able to make you
one - prices from £400 inc. VAT for a full system for most applications.

A friend of mine just told me you're after a CVH exhaust manifold.
I'm converting my Westfield from a 1.6 CVH to VX lump, so I've got the whole engine package going spare including manifold.
I believe the 1.8 and 1.6 CVH's use the same manifold.

I can confirm that the 1.8 and 1.6 exhaust manifolds are the same.
Mine came from a 1.6 CVH engined Westy and fits perfectly on my indy.
I paid £120 for the manifold, silencer and heatshield.
Have you made your engine mountings yet as the westfield manifold doesn't leave much room for an engine mount. It's easy enough to make it
clear, but if you have made the mount without thinking about the exhaust route you'll probably have to modify it.

You got them damn cheap, i've never seen a silencer go for less than £100 by itself.

I guess I was lucky. They were advertised on the Westfield forum and the guy didn't seem to have a queue of people biting his hand off.
CVHs aren't that popular so maybe thats why it was cheap.

Hi Guys
Thanks for all the quick replies!!!
Here are some replies:
It was MK sportscars I contacted in November.
I already made my engine mounts and fitted them so I guess I will have to modify them.
Bean, since it has been confirmed that it will fit, I would definitly be interested in the manifold and exhaust. Can you give me an idea of
condidtion, maybe some pics? Send me a U2U with the price?
once again thanks everyone this really is a superb source of info.
Cheers
