Fireblade inner clutch basket
Thurbs - 8/9/09 at 04:41 PM

Like an idiot I've managed to damage the inner clutch basket while stripping the engine, jesus that bloody nut is tight and still haven't managed to shift it. I was using the makeshift tool reccomended in the haynes manual but still no joy.
Does anyone have any other ideas to shift it ? and if anyone should have a spare inner basket I would be very happy to exchange for some pound notes !!!!
cheers all

I normally use an air impact wrench.
Wrap a cloth round the inner basket and just hold it or wedge it - no special tool required.

Two short pices of 1" angle ally to lockit to the outer basket, they wedge in snugly then hold the outer against the engine cases, works for me

i couldn't get mine off and also damaged the basket (broke one of the lugs off), ended up drilling the nut and breaking it with a chisel
