hi guys
does anyone know at what RPM the built in rev limiter kicks in on a 1995 carbed fireblade. also has anyone used the revlight unit fron datatool
it's about 10 coloured led's you programme yourself and costs about £49
cheers
tony
mine doesnt see to have a limiter as ive missed shifts before [thats why im changing the linkage]...ill take any info on a rev limiter also.......thanks
99.9% certain that its 11,750rpm on all carbed blades, certainly was on my '99 and also on my mates '93 893 engine.

mine went too just over 12k was modded, think its around 11summat, but it should work, is it not hiting a limiter ?
Motobob, I would think that either your rev counter over-reads (so its not revving as high as you think), or you may have a CBR600 CDI which I think works with the blade loom, but obviously that has a higher rev limit - too high for a blade.
my highest recorded revs on digidash was 11995 rpm with a slight stutter of the rev limiter rrw/98 blade motor
cuts at 11750 on my '93 engine without any mods i.e. built in rev limiter. i use a 4 led omex shift light on mine- works brilliant!
thanks guys, certainly didn't seem that high. it was hitting the limiter about 3/4 of the way down the railway straight at aintree which made me
think it was about 10000 looks like we need a 7th gear or a different diff for trackdays. found it very reassuring that it couldn't be over
revved especially with a 23 yr old with a right foot made of lead
tony
the same ,.. I'll experiment more ....!!
Well,
i think that most of the bikes have there limit on that one because my VFR has it to..
I see it because if you look at the rpm dial
you see at 12.000rpm the red zone starting..just before that there is an dotted line and thats when the rev limiter gets in!altough its an per engine
basis...
I think to that on an carbed engine its the cdi who will cutt in the rev limiter!
altough on my engine its the spark that they take away! Thats also the reason that the engine makes an slamming noise..
if you would simply take the fuel away it would be like an loss of power/fuel sentence.... thats what my corsa 2002 1.2 16v feels like when i hit its
rev limiter...@ 6700rpm..
but on carbed engine its defenitly the cdi..
Cheers,
Tks
20.000rpm? on what engine? that's almost twice the rpm thats where its made for? pff didn't you had the sensation that your piston just
would gome out an take an look out side?
pff...
