Whats the concensus of opinion on cush drive propshafts?

Worth it or not?

Census of opinion of TRT's (Torque Resilient Tube) from the one's I know using them is very good - well worth the money.

People using them MKBlade, Avoneer

Bailey-Morris £250

Others less than £200... ask above people.

Mine hasnt got one, several cars Ive driven have had them and personally I didnt notice a huge amount of difference in smoothness and Ive never had gearbox problems.
Having said that, if doing it again I probably would get one just to add a little bit more compliance in the driveline to give the gearbox as easy a life as possible.

I am mostly concerned about gearbox longevity on what will be a daily driver where possible in cyprus...

Has anyone had a catastrophic failure without one maybe?

Not catastrophic, but deffo the achillies heel, specially on certain older engines.

If you're going to Cyprus with the Indy I'd concentrate more on the cooling as the engine runs very hot!

A few people have had gearbox problems - ourselves included (on our Blade engined Indy). Whether the prop was a significant contributing factor is difficult to ascertain amongst others.

To my way of thinking, if the motorbike had a cush drive, then it should be replicated in the drivetrain of the Indy, by use of a TRT prop.

Having said that, our present Indy does not have a TRT prop but it is high on the list of future modifications.

Got a larger rad and a seperate oil cooler as well, so hopefully that will be sufficient, if not I'll fit a larger pace westfield rad later..



For race use we all but remove the cushdrive, leaving just a small cush by way of some round studs in small rubbers...

Are you talking about motorbikes in relation to the cushdrive or specifically BEC's?

Prop arrived today

its a tight fit as they are 2.5 inches thick rather than 2 inches, but its gone in...

Can we see some pics??? as i need to get a prop soon cheers

Will be posting pics tomorrow, just got home from harrogate
