Center bearing pics

Gents:

I'm finally at the stage where I need to finalize prop mounts and such (I've fretted and put it off for far too long!). I've seen quite a few pics of Westies, etc and their center bearin mount pics, but none of self builts. For those gents who built their own chassis, will you post pics of your prop's center bearing? A silly request, perhaps, but I've painted the chassis and need to figure out how to mount the center bearing--hopefully without firing up the MIG gun.

Or do any of you innovative gents have a kind suggestion as to how to mount a center bearing on an already painted chassis?

--Many thanks, Chris

i guess you're going bike engined as all car engined 7's i've seen have used a one peice prop.

I’ve just fitted mine (there are a couple of pics in my archive) I was going to bolt it to a large box section bolted onto the existing gearbox plate but this seemed a bit overkill! I may add a gusset or two to stiffen things up, I will probably end up tacking those nuts onto the plate as well! Work in progress so any opinions would be appreciated!

I welded in a 6mm plate (200mm wide) in the tranny tunnel next to where the drivers left knee would be.

You don't want the centre bearing to wobble loose!
