hi all
i have drums on the back of my indy, what do i need to change them to discs and what car would be best to source them off?
You would probably need a whole new axle off a disc braked sierra and new MK uprights.
Although I think there was someone offering brackets to weld on to accomodate discs but not sure how successful it was.
Take all the drum components off including the backplates
Buy some of these from MNR:
Purchase new/reconditioned or second hand Discs and calipers for any sierra/granada with 253mm discs on the back (xr4x4 etc)
The cosworth (sierra 2wd/4wd/granada 24v) models have larger 273mm both in solid and vented flavour with wider calipers to accomodate so best to stay
clear of these if you want to keep it simple.
You will also need to get some flexi hoses made up as the rear calipers are of carrier and slider design so the brake pipework needs to be able to
move with it.
Cheers
