My carbed R1 has a red line of 11750 RPM. I know that it's best work is done before 11000 and that there is no reason to rev it to the red line,
except perhaps in 1st. I don't ever plan to over rev it but then people don't plan to crash, yet so many drivers do.
Would it be very bad to over rev the engine by a small amount? Say if it were dangerous to change gear at that point or, I don't know, I
forgot
or got carried away or something?
If you see collors and collets coming out of the cam cover , back off a bit.
