engine position

Well thats it all stripped down to the bare chassis I'd forgotten how heavy that pinto engine and gearbox were. Can anyone help me with some basic measurements for mounting the R1.
How high above the top of the bottom frame tube do I need the the centre of the lower rear engine mount, how far forward of the footwell does the lower rear engine mount need to be. how far in from the side rail does the lower rear engine mount need to be, or will the blade measurements be close enough
many thanks
Tony

With mine I put the engine so the base of the sump sat about 1" below the bottom chassis rail to give me sufficient bonnet clearance, but being an Indy you might not need it that low. As for the rest I would say the main thing is to try to get the engine as far back as possible and keep the line of the prop as straight as possible. Also dont forget to give enough clearance for the thermostat on the top of the head which sits outboard of the cam cover itself.
Having said all that, mine was in a similar position to where the blade sat anyway, I used the same top chassis mounting points etc.
